Review and Rank: Short Stories By taylor lee

"Flowers for Algernon" by Daniel Keyes is one of the short stories I read for this project. I enjoyed this short story because it made me stop and think about what I was reading. The author wrote it in journal format in the perspective of the main character. I personally like this format because it gives detail to the events and emotions of the character. This format helped me think about the story better. The story is a little sad, especially at the end. I did not like the ending, however, it is my favorite ending out of the three stories. I overall enjoyed this story and would recommended it to others.
"The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe was another short story I read. This story was my personal favorite. I love how detailed the author describes the events in the story and the conflicting emotions of the man. The plot was well though out and extremely well written. The only factor that I didn't like was the ending. Personally, the ending felt like it came to a conclusion too suddenly. Aside from the ending, this story was enjoyable and satisfying.
The last short story I read was written by Isaac Asimov and titled "Hallucination". This story was written from a third person point of view. I enjoyed this story because of the descriptions and creativity. The author created a entirely different world and described it thoroughly in the story. The ending was also not my favorite. I felt like it left out what would happen next after the conflict had been resolved. For the most part, I am happy I read this story and I definitely enjoyed it.

Rank of the stories:

  1. "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe
  2. "Hallucination" by Isaac Asimov
  3. "Flowers for Algernon" by Daniel Keyes
I liked "The Tell-Tale Heart" the most because of the intricate details provided and because I personally liked the author style of writing. "Hallucinations" was my second choice because I liked the creative setting of the story. "Flowers for Algernon" was not a bad story, I just like the other stories better. However, "Flowers for Algernon" was my favorite ending out of all of them.
In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed all of these short stories and would highly recommend them to others.
Thank you for reading this presentation.
