The Good Life. George's at Alys Beach

"Established in 2008, we bring regional coastal fare infused with global flavors to the quaint town of Alys Beach, Florida. We craft all of our dishes using locally sourced, organic produce and the freshest seafood available, and present each with a generous helping of love…" ~ George's at Alys Beach

Happiness Comes In Waves.

...and in courses.

I truly believe there is no place on Earth more magical than the seaside towns of 30a in Florida. Just spending a few minutes there and you are transported away from all the cares of the world. It has become our home away from home.

The best things about home are your friendships, relationships and life experiences there. The folks at George's at Alys Beach don't skip a beat and make certain you aren't missing a thing.

...just look at all of those smiles. <3

"Our dishes fall into two categories: Behave and Misbehave. The Behave section features organic, spa-inspired dishes, while the Misbehave side touts traditional beach fare like fried seafood baskets and po-boys. The menu is rounded out with a thoughtfully curated wine list and a selection of decadent desserts." ~ George's at Alys Beach

The "Taste" portion of the menu at George's is nothing less than heavenly. We sampled the Smoked Trout Spread, perfectly served on toast points and accented with pea shoots and caviar.

Plated to the right of the trout was fresh Tuna Spring Rolls with vermicelli, sprouts, carrots, cucumbers, and green onions dressed with a sensational wasabi lime crema and shitake oyster sauce.

Both dishes were expertly paired with a spectacular rose.

A popular "Be-have" menu offering is Pan Seared Sea Scallops served with white asparagus and pearl onion parsnip fricassee, topped with strawberry watermelon salsa and micro arugula. If only it was always this easy and delicious to behave!

Pasta is the epitome of comfort food and no menu is complete without it. Although experts in seafood, George's Cheese & Truffle Sachetti is masterful. Served with sweet green peas and fresh herbs in a lemon Alfredo, we suspect Chef Camille must have Italian ancestors! Superb!

Next was a bite from the Mis-B-Have menu with a succulent offering of New Zealand Rack of Lamb. Nicely accompanied by cauliflower cous cous, sweet pea and mint puree, pea tendril salad and miso pistachio butter, the lamb was perfectly cooked and the presentation stellar.

The Best Things In Life Are Sweet.

You have lived a blessed life when more of your meals than not include dessert. I have been abundantly blessed. However, nothing can compare to the exquisite dessert offerings at George's.

The Hummingbird Cake is ethereal made with browned butter cream cheese frosting, edible flowers and candied pecan nut crumb.

The Malted Chocolate Smores with toasted marshmallow fluff and a potato chip graham tuile were phenomenal and a the perfect after dinner treat! Believe me, it is impossible to stop at just one.

Our last bite of the evening was George's Warm Chocolate Toffee Goo. This has all of the things; sweet cream ice cream, chocolate mousse, and chocolate sauce. This is life itself and will change dessert as you know it.

Our charming beach cottage provides the perfect backdrop for a casual dinner with friends and family. Dine indoors in our airy, yet cozy dining room, or soak in the beautiful Florida sunshine on our front deck, or screened porches.
George’s now offers a beautiful viewing deck where you can take a drink and look out over Alys Beach while you wait to be seated. There is also a lounge downstairs perfect for families and friends to gather. We encourage you to come inside, leave your name with the hostess and grab a drink to take with you upstairs!

A Perfect Dose of Vitamin Sea.

Charming. Cozy. Welcoming. Delicious.

We simply can't say enough about the food, ambiance, hospitality, skill, talent and friendship shown to us by George's at Alys. Hass and I both tried to persuade Chef Camille to come home with us. I threatened, er, I mean, offered, to put her in my suitcase. She politely declined. I cant blame her. She has brought an amazing level of skill, talent, taste and innovation to George's.

If you are visiting the 30A area, please stop by George's at Alys Beach. DO. NOT. MISS. THIS. EXPERIENCE. Tell them we sent you and give them a big hug from all of us at The Front Porch Gourmet. Give an extra hug to Chef Camille and let her know my suitcase is always ready to bring her home to Atlanta. ;)
