The Arkells with Robert Delong at Canalside in Buffalo, NY

The Second Week of free concerts at the beautiful Canalside in Buffalo NY was headlined by Hamilton Natives, The Arkells.

Opening Act - Robert Delong

Starting the night off before the Arkells were Los Angelas native Milo Greene (who I missed unfortunately) and Seattle's Robert Delong. Delong, donning facial warpaint played an impressive array of percussion and electronic music keeping his fans seemingly dancing the entire time he was on stage. while turning Canalside into a pseduo outdoor rave.

"We're all here tonight celebrating live music, celebrating this city. And that's a beautiful thing" - Max Kerman

Steeltown's finest returned to Buffalo in top form last Thursday night. The Arkells demonstrated both bare-bones rock and exceptional pop sensibilities wth their 90 minute set. Performing in support of their 3rd album, 2014's High Noon which recently won a Canadian Juno for best Rock Album of the Year, the Hamilton based quartet delighted the Buffalo crowd. In fact they seemed to command the crowd with an effortless energy, creating a positive, almost celebratory experience for all of those in attendance.
