The Young god podcast A podcast for gods

About the podcast

The Young god podcast is an audio-only online show hosted by brand strategist, and photographer, Rodney Omeokachie. The show is a curation of ideas and conversations that help us better visualize what we might be like as the best version of ourselves. In a nutshell, it is an ode to flawless self-expression. Listen to Rodney and his guests share table-shaking thoughts, super stories and personal truths as they strive to make sense of this cold-world. It is a podcast that will delight you, make you think, and put you onto new things.

The idea is this: we cannot fix anyone, we can hardly fix ourselves. What we can do, however, is share the right ideas, have the right conversations and create the right platforms that help us along the way. This is how you fix the world.

Being a god is about creating and working towards being the best version of yourself. It's about having a realistic appraisal of your strengths and your weaknesses; a devotion to truth and reality; a tolerant attitude towards people; and living in accordance with our highest values.

The Young god pod launched in May 2018 and has since amassed over 6000 listens across Nigeria, the US, the UK, Spain, Kenya, France and Canada.

About the Host

Hello, I’m Rodney Omeokachie aka the young god. I’m a published photographer, creative strategist, entrepreneur and all-round good guy (dare I say) based in Abuja, Nigeria.

I love to listen, think, and talk. Combine these three passions together, and you get a thoughtfully curated podcast chuck full of amazing conversations with some of the most interesting people you will ever come across.

I started this podcast because I felt like I had some insights, and a fresh perspective on a lot of different emotional and mental aspects that help us become the best version of ourselves.

It's important to note that i don't speak as an expert but as an intellectual; and a good intellectual will tell you the truth about what he thinks, not that what he thinks is the truth. Let that sink in.

As a creative strategist, I build brands and make brands better. I create strategies, and brainstorm ideas that that help brands and businesses be the best version of themselves. As a photographer, I have been featured in multiple publications, exhibited at multiple festivals and photographed some interesting personalities.

I am not a motivational speaker. Just a guy with something to say.

Vision and Mission

The Young god podcast is dedicated to creativity, individuality and and flawless self-expression. It aims to be a platform that helps people think higher of themselves and strive to be the difference wherever they find themselves.

Who is the podcast for?

It is a podcast for gods -- for individuals working on excellence, who committed to being better everyday, who want to get better at this life thing. It is for free thinkers and free spirits who do not conform but move to the beat of their own drum.

I walk to the beat of my own drum.

Podcast Format

The podcast is informal, casual and personal in its tone. Episodes come in two formats: the monologue, where Rodney puts on his intellectual hat and speaks truth to the issues that matter to him; and the conversation, where Rodney and his guest talk shop, life and everything in between. The monologues are usually 20-30 mins long while the conversations are usually 45 mins to an hour long.

A good intellectual will tell you the truth about what he thinks. (That is not the same as telling you that what he thinks is the truth.)
"The essence of the independent mind lies not in what it thinks, but in how it thinks".

The Young god podcast hosts some of Abuja's most interesting people and uncommon minds. Each guest is a god in his/her own right. Listen to them opening up like never before in intimate one-on-one conversations, humorous banter, and engaging arguments you won't find anywhere else.
