The Statue of Liberty Ellie N. Postma

The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of liberty as it says so in the name.

Fredric-Auguste Bartholdi designed her in 1884 and now she stands in New York.

The Statue of Liberty is made of real copper and has turned green over time. She has 7 spikes on her head to stand for the seven continents.

As soon as the Statue of Liberty was assembled she had to be disassembled so that it could be shipped to New York. When she got there she was reassembled to look as we know her today.

The Statue of Liberty is a symbol for the United States of America because it shows the friendship of the USA and France.
