Penrose School Bridgwater, somerset

Futures for Somerset were appointed by Somerset County Council to develop a town-wide solution to SEN school services. The project focused on the redevelopment of Penrose School across three separate sites to provide Primary, Secondary and Post-16 provision.

The project resulted in the redevelopment of the existing Penrose School site to provide a new purpose built SEN Primary School catering for the challenging needs of students with PMLD. Existing Buildings on the Chilton Trinity Campus were redeveloped to provide a dedicated sixth form centre (The Jean Rees Centre). Secondary students were integrated into Elmwood School (a new SEN school Programme Managed by Futures for Somerset).

Futures for Somerset provided a range of services into this project. Being involved from the very beginning of the project enabled a strong understanding of the school and student needs, enabling a bespoke solution to be shaped. Our services into this project included Project Management, acting as Employers Agent, Procurement Agents, Education Change Management, IT Technical Advice and Procurement, FM Services Procurement.
