This Town

Waking up to kiss you and nobody's there

The smell of your perfume still stuck in the air

It's hard

Yesterday I thought I saw your shadow running round

It's funny how things never change in this old town

So far from the stars

And I want to tell you everything

The words I never got to say the first time around

And I remember everything

From when we were the children playing in this fairground

Wish I was there with you now

If the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you

Drive highways and byways to be there with you

Over and over the only truth

Everything comes back to you

saw that you moved on with someone new

In the pub that we met he's got his arms around you

It's so hard

So hard

And I want to tell you everything

The words I never got to say the first time around

Wish I was there with you now

if the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you

Drive highways and byways to be there with you

Over and over the only truth

Everything comes back to you

You still make me nervous when you walk in the room

Them butterflies they come alive when I'm next to you

Over and over the only truth

Everything comes back to you

The line in the song that says "them butterflies they come alive when I'm next to you" it's a metaphor because it compares him being nervous around this girl to butterflies in his stomach.

The line in the song that says "if the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you" It's a metaphor. He's not actually going to dance. He's saying I wanna be with you and I don't care what other people think

SHe way out

With a face from a movie scene

Or magazine, you know what I mean

She's definitely got the style on you

She's definitely got the style on you

She's got two-tone everything

Moving but she just can't move

She's got two phones, everything, you

Moving but she just can't move

Because she way out

I've never seen her dance moves dancing like she way out

She way out

I've never seen her talk but I'm telling you she way out

She said it's not about your body it's just social implications are

Brought upon by this party that we're sitting in

And I'd like to say you've changed but you're always the same

I've got a feeling that the marijuana's rotting your brain

She's got two-tone everything, way too intelligent

Moving but she just can't move

She's got two phones, everything

Boyfriend, telling him find me cause I'll never find you

Because she way out

I've never seen her dance moves, dancing like she way out

Because she way out

I've never seen her talk but I'm telling you she way out

Because she way out

I've never seen her dance moves, dancing like she way out

Because she way out

I've never seen her talk but I'm telling you she way out

The tension is overflowing with every Benson

She's throwing on the floor and in my mouth

She said I'd love you to stay but that's simply insane

I've got a feeling that my friends are gonna kick in your brain

In the song the line "I've got a feeling that my friends are gonna kick in your brain" is a hyperbole. Someone can't actually kick your brain.

The line in the song that says "She throwing in the floor and in my mouth" is a metaphor. She's not actually throwing herself on the floor and on his mouth, he's saying she's going wild.

History

You've gotta help me, I'm losing my mind

Keep getting the feeling you want to leave this all behind

Thought we were going strong

I thought we were holding on

Aren't we?

No, they don't teach you this in school

Now my heart's breaking and I don't know what to do

Thought we were going strong

Thought we were holding on

Aren't we?

You and me got a whole lot of history

We could be the greatest thing that the world has ever seen

You and me got a whole lot of history

So don't let it go, we can make some more, we can live forever

All of the rumours, all of the fights

But we always find a way to make it out alive

Thought we were going strong

Thought we were holding on

Aren't we?

You and me got a whole lot of history

We could be the greatest thing that the world has ever seen

You and me got a whole lot of history

So don't let it go, we can make some more, we can live forever

Minibars, expensive cars, hotel rooms

And new tattoos, good champagne, and private planes

But we don't need anything

'Cause the truth is out

I realise that without you here like there's just a lie

This is not the end

This is not the end

We can make it you know it, you know

The line in the song that says "Now my hearts breaking and I don't know what to do" is a metaphor. There heart isn't actually breaking but they are sad and so it feels as though there heart is breaking.

The line in the song that says "we don't need anyhthing" is a hyperbole. They don't actually mean they don't need anthing. They're saying them don't need all the expensive things in life, if they just had they're fans.

The color red

The color red

It is the color of blood

It is the color of rage

It is also seen as the color of love and seduction

Funny how some see it as love and others see it as rage

The color red

it is the color of the roses you give her

it is the color of her dress

it is the color of her lips

it is the color the fills your body when your angry with her

Red used to be her favorite color

until she saw the color red as you did not as love but as rage.
