Birth & Welcome to the World Session Guide

Maternity and Birth Photography

Maternity Sessions

Your journey to motherhood is simply amazing, I know it may not feel like it at times, but really your body is baking a mini you and what a better way to remember it than have your bump documented.

These sessions are in your own home, so you are relaxed in your own surroundings.

Simple and minimal, so we don't to detract from your unborn. You bump is best to photograph at around 35 weeks, but it all depends on how you are feeling.

Birth Photography

Thinking back now I most certainly can't remember my labour, yes I know it was sore but the little bits inbetween are a full on blur.

Imagine getting to look back on your labour/birth story documentary style. Seeing how you are supported emotionally by those who are your birthing partners is truly touching, and it's something that you will want to look back on over and over again.

Welcome to the World sessions

The session is all about baby; led by them, organic, honest and raw.

My approach is simple and minimalist, with no posing or props. I don’t think your baby needs anything more than just to be themselves.

We’ll get some pictures of your new family together. These are memories to look back on, the connections between you and capturing those tiny toes that won’t stay that small for long.

It's best if your baby is between 7 and 14 days old

That’s because they’re still at the sleepy stage, are very flexible with new and glowing skin. If they are older then we can we can still do the session, just bare in mind they are more alert the older they are.

Each session lasts between 2 and 4 hours

That might sound like a long time but I don’t want you to feel rushed. We’ll put the kettle on, have some homemade cake and it allows plenty of time for any feeds and changes. My experience is that the more relaxed you are, the more relaxed your baby will be and you’ll get better photographs – it’s my job to make sure this happens.

Have a think about what to wear

· The studio will be warm, so wear layers

· Plain styles work best; no stripes or logos

· Colour-wise, black and white both photograph well

· And, above all, wear something you’re comfortable in

Siblings are welcome to join in

Even the fur babies, but I’ll do these shots at the beginning, or end, of the session so they don’t get too fed up hanging about.

Sitter Sessions

These sessions are for older babies, babies who are able to sit unaided and crawl about.

Kind words

Recently had the newborn photo shoot with our daughter Ella. The overall experience was super. The shoot itself was relaxed and Becky was very professional and friendly. The personal touches made it extra special. The photos are amazing, the only problem being choosing which ones to print. Cannot recommend Becky highly enough.

Andrew, Karen and Ella Brown

Well where do I start, Becky was lovely from beginning to end. Her baking is fab, home made flapjack 😍 my favourite. Felt no rush to change or feed little one so everything was very relaxed. The end results are amazing and I would recommend her to everyone.

Steph Brushell, mummy to Jessica

We have had the ‘Welcome to the World’ newborn photo shoot with our daughter Zara. Becky was extremely friendly and professional, the experience was so relaxing and the home baking was very yummy! Becky’s studio is lovely, nice and cozy for our little girl! I had seen Becky’s work previously which is why we choose Enamay Photography! I would definitely recommend Enamay Photography, all the photos were beautiful and the full experience was perfect!!
