This course is suitable for beginners as well as those who desire to deepen their skills in photography and in post-processing.

Saturday Morning Sunrise Practicum

Hands-on Outdoor SUNRISE Practical

The course comprises of three segments. In the first segment, you will learn about the gear that is best suited for photography. You will also learn to master aperture, exposure and focus settings in your camera as well as composition techniques. You will also learn how to use filters. In the second segment, you will learn post-processing skills to transform the RAW images into awesome works. In the last segment, we will go for an outdoor, hands-on sunrise and morning shoots (subject to weather conditions), to capture the scenic views before proceeding back to the classroom to post-process your photos. We will end off with a sharing and presentation session of your works.

Computers (Windows 10) installed with Adobe CC 2020 will be provided for post-processing lessons. Course participants need to be conversant with the use of Windows 10.

Resfreshments will be provided.

Certificates of Attendance will be issued by Republic Polytechnic upon completion of course.

An award winning photographer, Mr Fong Yew Chan has been pursuing his passion for the past 30 years. His favourite genres are landscape, travel, macro & bird photography as it allows him to capture the beauty and splendour of nature. Being an engineer by training, he knows how to exploit the camera to its fullest while appreciating the beauty of nature and composing it for the perfect shot. He enjoys capturing nature scenes which “the eye cannot see”. He is extremely proficient in digital post processing techniques using Adobe tools and is able to transform ordinary looking photos to extraordinary works. He has been conducting basic and advanced photography classes for adult learners as well as polytechnic students.
