Andy Warhol was born on August 6, 1928, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States, and died February 22, 1987, Manhattan, New York City, New York, United States

Warhol attended Holmes Elementary school and took the free art classes offered at the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh.
