Taverna Rossa Pizza & Beer

Pizza and beer. It’s a classic combination that has existed for years, but the Taverna Rossa has taken the pair to a whole new level. Founded in 2013, the restaurant was created by two partners, Preston Lancaster and Tony Smith, who envisioned a place that would create a remarkable experience for its customers. Through its great food, drinks, and atmosphere, the Taverna Rossa is a restaurant for family and friends alike to hang out and have fun. Conveniently located in the Lakeside Market at the intersection of Preston and Spring Creek, the Taverna Rossa is perfect for anyone looking for a unique restaurant to spend their time at.

The Food

Of course, the pizza is what they do best. Using fresh ingredients that are locally sourced, they combine their ingredients in unique combinations. From the Local Goat & Fig, topped with dried figs, crispy bacon, and goat cheese, to the Smokey Pie, which combines barbecue sauce and local smoked brisket, there is always a new pizza to try. In fact, the menu is always changing as they create and tweak new craft pizzas to perfection.

After added with a generous amount of toppings, the pizzas are cooked using a Wood Stone gas-fire oven to make their crusts thin and crisp.

Also on the menu are the salads and sandwiches, all made with fresh ingredients and dressings made from scratch. They may not be as unique and special as the pizzas, but they’re perfect to mix up a meal. Starters include an amazing assortment of homemade dips and spreads served with baked pita bread, as well as others such as their Goat Cheese Mushrooms or Sweet Chili Baked Wings.

The Drinks

Their drink menu, like the food, has a similar approach. Their bar features 24 taps, 12 of which are familiar local Texas beers, along with others in bottles or cans. There may not be any Budweiser or Coors Light, but they promise they’ll have a craft beer that will suit any taste. The menu also contains a wide range of wines as well as their hand-crafted cocktails, which range from the Rossa Mule to their award-winning Bloody Mary, so there’s always a drink for someone to enjoy.

the music

On Friday and Saturday nights, the restaurant brings in the only thing that could make the place better: live music. With a wide range of music, from folk to classic rock to blues, customers can enjoy their dinner while listening to local favorites like The Rebellion or Subject to Change.

Whether you come for the pizza, beer, or music, the Taverna Rossa always has plenty to offer. So be sure to grab your friends, grab your appetite, and give yourself plenty of time at the restaurant. There's a lot there to enjoy.
