The fishing industry is currently facing a huge problem - "bycatch". Many fishermen catch large amounts of untargeted prey, especially those using trawl nets.

Large sea creatures can also end up as victims of bycatch.

Turtle excluder devices, or TEDs, help untargeted prey escape unharmed. The National Oceanic and Atomospheric Administration should require ALL trawl fishermen to use these devices.
