Pacific Rim Institute Photos by: David Stern

Taking a walk on New Year's Day is a pleasure that my family has always enjoyed. Getting into the fresh and crisp air is a treat, and this year was a perfect day for a walk at the Pacific Rim Institute.

The Pacific Rim Institute is committed to building a sustainable relationship between the residents of Ebey's Prairie and the prairie itself. This restoration work involves growing out native plants in propagation beds, sourcing and collecting seed from wild native plants, processing and storing seeds, preparing land (select chemical usage, cover cropping, controlled burns) and public education. Much of this work is labor intensive and depend largely on volunteers who are committed to enhancing the places in which they live.

The trails at Pacific Rim Institute are always open to public. Pets are allowed on leash. Walkers and runners may use the trails, as well as cyclists. Please stay on the trails because you may be trampling on a rare or endangered native plant species.
