Johann Gottfried Herder German Critic, theologian, and philosopher

Johann was born on the 24th of August 1744 in Mohrungen, East Prussia. His father was a school teacher. Johann grew up in a humble way.

Johann went to school to study theology, philosophy and literature. He met Immanuel Kant and Johann Georg Hamann whiles he studied at Konigsburg. These two people can be two of his influences.

Immanuel Kant, founder of critical philosophy. Johann later attacked Immanuel because he felt like he is his opposition.

Johann Georg Hamann,one of the Enlightenment's prominent critic.

Johann wrote an important essay on Shakespeare. We can conclude that Shakespeare was one of Johann's influences because he wrote about him.

This is one of Johann's quote that stands out to me and I think it is important.

Johann influenced Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and Ludovit Stur.

Johann died on the 18th of December 1803 in Weimar, Germany.
