Year in Review 2018 MVLA High School Foundation - Funding Highlights by the Numbers

2 CHAC Counselors

CHAC (Community Health Awareness Council) counselors at Mountain View and Los Altos High Schools promoted healthy practices and life skills so students can thrive during their high school years.

2 EXTRA Library Hours each day

Extended Library hours gave students a place to study, do research and collaborate after school. The Library also provided a safe place for students when the smoke from the Camp Fire polluted the air.

90+ Colleges visited this fall

College Information Sessions at the College and Career Centers gave students a chance to hear about colleges and decide if they would like to apply. Presenters are often the same person who will be reading student applications.

31 Innovative Learning Grants

1,154 Freshmen have reduced Class Sizes in English and Math

197 Tutors Available

The Tutorial Center offered free one-on-one academic assistance to students desiring occasional or year-long extra help in subjects including math, English, science, foreign language, history, and electives.

182 Colleges in 34 states and 8 countries

MVLA Grads are successfully launched to colleges and jobs around the world! The Naviance Platform assisted students, parents, and counselors with researching career and college choices.
