Benjamin Franklin was born in 1706 in Boston. He began school at age 8 and he quit at age 10. He liked to read and write. Benjamin Franklin wrote Poor Richard's Almanac.

Benjamin Franklin learned that lightning is electricity. He invented the lightning rod to protect houses from lightning. He became a postmaster and improved the mail system. He invented the rocking chair
