I chose to take advanced art to work with clay. I love working with my hands. I've done carpentry and the satisfaction of making things with my hands is something I enjoy. I knew I'd like making clay and I like Mrs. Galyk as a teacher so I chose a class with her.
I'm most proud of my ceramics. I'm not they greatest at drawing or painting so my clay work comes out best. I also enjoy using my hands to craft so it brings enjoyment too.
I wish I would have worked more on my self portrait. I didn't enjoy it a whole lot and wasn't the best but I think it could have turned out good. What I got done looked good and I would love to see what a finished project would look like.
My goal for the second semester is to make bigger clay structures such as vases and large mugs. I will do this by working my spinning skills little by little and working with more clay.
Artistic behavior #1: Persistence , it took me multiple tries to even make a bowl on the wheel. I had to throw and throw to be able to make bigger and better pieces also.
Artistic behavior #2: Observe, before I started throwing I watched Mrs. Galyk and other students work. I have also looked at many many pottery video and post for ideas and tips to accelerate my skills.
