Equal Exchange Tea Supply Chain

MOMs Tea impact in 2018:

Total Projected Pounds Purchased: 28,020 boxes

Total Projected Paid above Fair Trade Minimum: $5,604

Total Projected $ to Small Farmers: $39,228

MOM's first purchased tea in 2012. Consistently growing the products and impact has helped Equal Exchange purchased products on three different continents.

While tea grown on plantations can be certified Fair Trade, Equal Exchange is committed to buying directly from small-scale farmers. This goes above and beyond, the “working conditions” Fair Trade standards largely focus on. We believe that small farmers, organized in co-operatives, gives more power to those who cultivate the tea we drink.

Many of Equal Exchange's farming partners now farm on plantations once abandoned by the big owners. Small Farmer supply chains now give democratic power to farmers all over the world.
