This week in Kindergarten...

We will be finishing our penguin unit up on Monday. Then we will be talking about Groundhog's Day and make predict to see if the groundhog will see his shadow or not.

We will be learning about the -op rhyme chunk and discovering words with the -op ending.

In writing we will be talking about how to start a story with a bold beginning. We will also be talking about "sprinkle" words in order to make our stories more interesting and exciting.

In math we will work on combining shapes to make a new shape and figure out our height.

The one-district-one-book will continue this week. Be sure to check the yellow calendar each night to see what to read. After your done reading put your initials on the calendar and then your learner can bring it to school and I will give them a star for reading!

Little guided reading books will continue to come home this week. (Please be sure they are returned each day so other students can read them too!) Each night it is very important to have your learner read the book to you. Please make sure they are pointing to each word as they read, sounding out words, and learning their sight words.

Just a reminder: Home Link math homework is to be returned to school so I can see that students are getting extra practice at home. I will check the students work and return their homework to them with feedback.
