Off-Campus Student Services Virtual Open House

From September 9th to the 23rd, OCSS held its Virtual Open House event via Flipgrid. Nearly 300 students participated by viewing videos uploaded from 17 UNT departments. A special thank you to the student participants, the 17 UNT departments who provided videos, and the OCSS staff for a successful virtual event!

"Professional Picture Day...s" was an event in which 39 students submitted their "professional" headshot to be digitally touched up by the OCSS Advertising Team. Normally, students' photos are taken in-person, but a live event was not permissible due to COVID-19 restrictions. Thank you to the students who participated and the OCSS "Ad" Team for their efforts.

What to Look For

Non-Traditional Student Appreciation Week - Oct 12 - 16

"Non-Trad Week" is a full week of programs and events in appreciation of non-traditional and graduate students. While this is a celebration of our dear non-traditional students, the Non-Trad Week festivities are open to all current UNT students. This year, we celebrate from October 12-16, 2020. Most programs and events will be virtual (only food offerings are in-person) to adhere to COVID-19 safety guidelines and protocols. Visit the Non-Trad Week Site for a full-list of programs and events.

Family Weekend: UNT Football vs. Charlotte, October 10, 7pm

In celebration of UNT Family Weekend (Oct. 9 - Oct. 11) and our non-traditional students, we are offering free tickets to Saturday night's 7pm matchup between our beloved Mean Green vs. Charlotte at Apogee Stadium. Due to the limited seating to adhere to safety protocols, there will be very limited number of tickets available, so apply soon! Fun Activities

Pumpkin Patch

Aubrey Pumpkin Patch is now open through November 8th. The family-owned farm offers barrel train rides, pumpkins for sale, feeding animals including Texas longhorns, several photo spots, a hay maze, and so much more! Enjoy the outdoors with your mask plenty of room for social distancing.

Halloween (and Scary) Fun

The Parker House in Denton is offering two attractions this Halloween season. Haunted Walk Through is an immersive situation where you will walk through the living quarters of the murderous Mary Parker. And Outbreak where you will ride around the property in an attack vehicle to fend off attacking zombies! The Parker House is taking many precautions and have implemented several new protocols to protect you during your visit and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Halloween is going to look a lot different than it usually does. Traditional parties, costume parades, and trick-or-treating may not be the best idea. However, as we adjust to our new normal of social distancing and virtual celebrations, there are tons of ways we can make Halloween special for the little ones in our lives. Halloween At Home: 10 Virtual Halloween Games and Activities For Kids offers fun ideas and advice for celebrating Halloween in the comfort of your own home this year.

Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) is a two day holiday from October 31st to November 2nd that reunites the living and dead. Since Denton's Day of the Dead festival has been cancelled this year, we encourage you to celebrate at home by learning about the holiday, playing games, creating crafts, or coloring sugar skulls.
