Hope Women's Conference
You are invited to a one-day women's conference on Saturday, August 28 from 10am-5pm. The speakers are well-known speaker and author Linda Dillow and her daughter, Jessa Dillow Crisp, who co-founded BridgeHope, an anti-trafficking nonprofit. This event is being live-streamed to the Ottawa Missionary Church (2031 E. Main St, Ottawa, OH, 45875).
Join us as we find hope amidst the chaos of an out-of-control world! Tickets are free for attending the live stream in Ottawa (but donations toward lunch are welcomed), or $10 to stream to your own device and watch anywhere! Save/purchase your tickets at ottawamissionarychurch.org.
Moral Revolution Conference
Sept. 24 & 25 - Join us Friday evening and all day Saturday for a weekend of honest conversation about God's design for sex and sexuality. Right here at Shawnee Alliance, in the Activity Center, we are so excited to be welcoming the directors of Moral Revolution, Cole and Caitlin Zick! They will share vulnerably about their own story, and will equip us to have powerful conversations so we can live whole and healed. This world deserves a better story around sex and we need new language to help talk about it. There is no shame in what God has created! Whether you are single, dating, married, parent, grandparent, teacher, mentor or coach - this event is for everyone, no matter your occupation or life stage! (ages 16 & up)
Register by Sept. 10 at shawneealliance.com/events for discounted Early Bird ticket pricing.
Ephesians Bible Study
Join us on Sundays from 10:45am-noon as we dive into the book of Ephesians together in East Campus Rooms I-J from Aug. 29 - Oct. 24. This study is facilitated by Brad Reeder.
Has it ever dawned on you that nothing has ever dawned on God? He knew before the world began that His people would face hardship, so He gave us His Word. The Book of Ephesians is a survival manual—it equips believers to thrive in a world that hates the message of Jesus Christ. Paul the Apostle writes to encourage believers to live well—we've been lifted from the graveyard of sin and called to shout the gospel into the darkened world.
Moms in Prayer
Moms in Prayer is an international Christian organization that supports moms in prayer for their children and their schools and communities. Moms and grandmoms of all ages are welcome to join us once a week for one hour of prayer. Your child can be of any age or situation, and you do not have to make a long-term commitment - come whenever you're available! We meet in East Campus Room A from 8:30-9:30am every Wednesday beginning Sept. 1. For more info or to join the group, visit shawneealliance.com/groups.

Baptism: Lives Transformed!
Gina Holland (Greeter)
You can often find Gina making coffee or welcoming people as they come into church on Sunday mornings. When she's not visible, odds are she is somewhere praying that people will hear the voice of the Lord and invite Him to intervene in their lives.
Gina has been serving for several years. When asked why she chooses to serve in these ways, her reply is "To give back! I am so thankful and grateful that my eyes of understanding have been opened to the Truth. My desire is that every person who walks through the doors of Shawnee Alliance Church knows that the Spirit of Truth lives! If brewing coffee early in the morning, making food for funeral dinners, or entering into spiritual warfare will communicate this, I am willing!
"Serving gives me an opportunity to work with and communicate with other believers. It's about developing unity. I believe that this is being accomplished every day in the spiritual realm. I have met a lot of people and developed some really great relationships working alongside other believers here, which makes me happy!"
Shelby Jordan (Worship Team, Service Host)
Shelby serves in several capacities at Shawnee Alliance Church, including service hosting and singing on the worship team.
"As service host, I welcome the congregation to the service, invite our visitors to connect with us, provide updates on what's happening in the church, and pray a blessing over the service and the offering.
"As a part of the worship team I am honored to share the glory of God with the congregation through music in corporate worship. It is an honor to serve alongside other people with the same desire to lead and experience worship.
"Serving in these roles has helped me grow as a person and spiritually as well! I love being able to share how great our God is through these roles!"
Heather Long (Baptism, Communion & StoryTellers)
"Hi! I’m Heather, one of the many, many volunteers it takes to keep Shawnee Alliance running. I am a married, empty-nester mom who has the privilege of helping with my grandchildren on an almost daily basis. According to the spiritual gift tests, my gifts are service, helps and giving. Maybe that explains why volunteering at Shawnee Alliance makes me so happy and fulfilled. Here’s what you may see me doing during the month.
"StoryTellers is an incredible opportunity for me to work alongside my daughter, granddaughter, and currently 9 other amazing students ages 9 to 17. StoryTellers is an ongoing small group that has existed in some form or other for about 20 years. Our goal is to teach young people that arts are created by God, and that arts have a place in worship. It is also a way to use their creative energy for the good of others and the Kingdom. We will be starting a devotional series on 'My Identity in Christ', and I look forward to seeing how God works through each StoryTeller’s life as they grasp the truth that they are created in the image of God and designed for a purpose. We are training them to be servant leaders, and we pray that as they graduate out of StoryTellers, they will hold fast to their creativity and passion and stand strong as leaders in the church as adults.
"Baptism Sundays are my favorite! I am the lady who provides your an “I Am New” T-shirt and hands you your towel as you come out of the water. The testimonies often bring me tears of joy as you share your incredible journey with God! You may even catch me “dancing” up the aisle with a mop in hand at the end of a baptism service!
"The first Sunday of the month, you will find me scurrying around with communion trays. My wonderful team of helpers make sure each row is served, and I'm thankful to Pastor Bridgett who coordinates all the serving volunteers, which enables me to put my energy toward using my 'hands on' gifts.
"So why do I do this? It’s simple. I love finding ways to use the gifts Holy Spirit has given me to further Papa’s work, even in the small things. In God’s mind, there are no insignificant jobs or insignificant people. I believe that everything I do brings glory to His Name and is for His purpose and that gives me unspeakable joy!
Karen Hager (Kids Min)
Karen is a wife, mother and grandma, and has been attending Shawnee Alliance since 1999. Her parents served by starting Good News Clubs in Paulding & Putnam County Schools as well as several Bible studies and small groups, and later followed God's calling into ministry. "One would say serving is in my blood, but I serve because I want to. I serve because I care, and because it is my responsibility as a believer. I serve because I know that God's Word is true.
"As I volunteer in Kids Min, I tell the stories from the Bible. I read scripture to them and use props to help me portray God's Word. I love bringing the Bible to life with props or acting out one of the Bible characters. I have even been known to dance and sing to illustrate that the people who walked alongside Jesus were just like us. My heart's desire is for kids to know God as their own; to serve and love the Lord all the days of their life!"
For several years now, Karen's ministry to children has extended beyond Kids Min to coaching an Upward Basketball Team. She has instilled those values in her family, and her children have followed in her footsteps and are a part of our Upward Basketball & Cheerleading program as well.
"Over these last 20+ years I have served the Lord at Shawnee Alliance Church wherever there is need. Where He sends, I will go!"

Bible Reading Plan
Bring transformation to your life by reading your Bible! You will get to know Jesus on a deeper level and learn wisdom for your everyday choices. You can find a free Bible in any of our church lobbies. Please feel free to take one when you're with us at church on Sunday or download the YouVersion app on your phone. Use this simple SOAP format to guide your interaction with God's Word:
- Scripture. Take your time reading each chapter and allow God to speak to you.
- Observation. What do you see God doing in the Scripture? What is God saying to you?
- Application. Ask yourself how you can apply this to your life right now.
- Prayer. Communicate with God and ask Him to help you apply this to your life.
