Fourth grade students from Elkhorn Elementary have spent the past 5 weeks learning about endangered species around the world. They studied causes of endangered species, why those species are important to their local habitat/ecosystem and what humans can do to save the animals! They created feature articles about an animal of their choice.
"I can't believe this is the work of a 4th grader!" - Elkhorn Parent Chaperone
After the writing celebration...
Students split up into teams and went around the Zoo to explore. Many students were able to see the animals from their Feature Articles in person as they toured. One of the best parts of the trip was the GooseChase that the teachers put together. As the teams toured the zoo, they participated in a photo scavenger hunt. The photos that each team submitted are below in the photo grid in no particular order. We hope you enjoy looking through our adventure!
SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR AMAZING PARENT VOLUNTEERS! WITHOUT YOU, THIS FIELD TRIP WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A SUCCESS! WE ARE LUCKY AT ELKHORN TO HAVE SUCH A SUPPORTIVE GROUP OF ADULTS SURROUNDING OUR STUDENTS!
Enjoy the pictures!
