It was great to see so many families attend the Scarecrow trail last weekend. Thank you again to FOMPs for organising such a successful event.
A huge well done to our Y6 pupils who completed their SATs tests this week. The attitude shown by all children was amazing to see and we're really proud of them! Well done to everyone!
Just a reminder that on Tuesday there will be another parent forum (9am and 6.30pm). It's a chance for Mr Rafferty to talk through some of our upcoming plans and answer any questions that you may have regarding whole school issues. Badgers' visit to Hooke Court
Badgers Class will be going on their residential trip to Hooke Court on 12th June 2019. The total cost for the trip is £181.00. The remaining balances are due by 31st May. Payments can be made using Parent Pay or by cash or cheque to the school office.
If your child has ever been in receipt of free school meals, there may be some financial help available towards the cost of this trip. Please contact the school office for further information. If you are not sure if this applies to you please ask at the school office.
There will be a Parents Meeting in the school hall on Thursday 23rd May at 6pm.
Bikeability starts next week. Please make sure you wear suitable clothing and footwear for cycling and don't forget your bikes!
Any outstanding forms and payments must be handed in Monday morning.
Badgers' Folk Festival
Badgers' class will be taking part in the Folk Festival on Friday. They need to wear their school uniform and bring a packed lunch.
Open Classroom and Menu Tasting
We will be welcoming families into school on Wednesday 22nd May for our Open Classroom event. The children's classrooms will be open between 3.00 and 4.00 for you to come in and see what they have been learning this term. Our new school caterer Dolce, will also be providing a selection of food from their menu in a 'taster session' in the school hall. All are welcome.
Hedgehogs' class look forward to welcoming family and friends to their class assembly on Thursday 23rd May. The assembly start at 9.15 and is followed by tea and coffee.
The May Mile
The May Mile is back this weekend and celebrating its 10th Birthday. This is a fantasic event and is always popular with the pupils from Monkton Park School. You can register on the day. We look forward to see lots of you taking part.
Thank you to everyone involved in the scarecrow trail last weekend it was a real success yet again and you helped to raise a total of over £2,900!
Whether you made a scarecrow, helped on one of the refreshment stalls, or just joined in and enjoyed the weekend walking the trail, everyone of you deserve credit. A special thanks should go to Janine Maclean and her team, Laura Thomas, Laura Blackett, Jo Parsons, Jo Reynolds, Penny Needham and Chris Parsons for their tried and tested coordination of the event.
The winning scarecrows were:
1st: Rapunzel with 53 votes
2nd: The Three Little Pigs with 31 votes.
There were 9 correct trail sheets, from which we drew the winner: Penny Lock (Fieldmice). The hamper was won by Vicki from Wooton Bassett.
