APRIL 2017

"The future is not the result of choices among alternative paths offered in the present. It is a place created - created first in the mind and the will; created next in activity." - Walt Disney
SLU Student Leaders - (L-R) Shem, Karla, Jochelle, DJ, Ericka & Nadja in our Vision, Instruction and Prayer Huddle.

We are almost done with our semester and there's just a great turn around in our ministry with the students. When we started the semester, some student leaders dropped off the radar and some just got really busy.

This semester taught me to trust the work and timing of God in and through the lives of the people I lead and coach. As a minister, I have the proclivity to make things work or try to fix stuff to deliver what is needed to do the job required of me. That kind of thinking works when we are talking about organizational structures and systems but when it comes to people it is never a good idea. The sole reason why is because we aren't made to fix others. Early on I realized that what needed to be fixed was my thinking when it comes to the work of God. I had to learn "being still before God."

"Being still" is not my kind of thing - I want things working like clockwork. Apparently, ministry is not like that. There is a time for everything as the author of Ecclesiastes says it. Earlier this year, I listed a prayer for ministry which is to build a core team of student leaders who will share the burden of the ministry in their campus. That prayer was answered. Student leaders started a weekly prayer meeting in their campus which some of them also expressed about the calling of a Campus Missionary.

As I turn 9 years in serving in the campus, I feel like I'm just starting. This gets better. As of April 5 we have 17 Victory Groups, 11 Student Victory Group Leaders, 18 Interns and 93 Victory Group Members in Saint Louis University (Main). We are now considering a youth service beside the campus to reach out more students.

(extreme L&R): Nadja & Shem doing the God Test and sharing the gospel to SLU students. Both of them expressed their desire to be a campus missionary when they graduate.

Thank you for your commitment to change the campus and change the world with your prayer and generous support. May God continue to prosper you.

Prayer requests

  1. Safe and Normal Delivery for Michiko and Baby Priscilla Francine.
  2. Wisdom as we lead the team in SLU.
  3. Growth and maturity of our student leaders.
