Dallas-Fort Worth area charter schools collaborated to host a Press Conference for National School Choice Week advocating for equal funding for charter schools! Harmony Public Schools DFW had a strong visual presence, and our alumna Paige Laserna represented the voice of Harmony.

Parent Leadership Summits in DFW & Letter Writing Campaign

Harmony campuses have been hosting Parent Leadership Summits to inform parents about charter schools, and rally advocates to support our efforts in the legislature. We have collected almost 300 letters from Harmony Parents to contribute to the Letter Writing Campaign efforts with our fellow charter cousins!

Harmony Science Academy Waco

One of our Seniors was hiligted in the magazine called the Wacoan. We had pictures of our students featured in the magazine. Last week our COC was featured in the front page of the Waco newspaper. The article was about the new school and its expectations. Our COC also met with the secretary of St. Rep Charles Anderson. They are working on a bio of Harmony to get a Resolution signed by Mr. Anderson for the school being open for 10 years. Seniors participated in FiSA night. COC spent all week doing outreach for enrollment. Attended the school choice rally oTuesday. Spent the rest of the week going to churches, busnesses, and other organization introducing myself and dropping off pamplets, and flyers. We also had students, parents, and staff take pictures with our school choice signs this week. We also announced our teacher of the year and Hispanic chamber winners. Those teachers will get their goody bags some time next week

Harmony Science Academy Garland

The school wide spelling bee will be on Friday. The 6th grade science students finised their Parachute PBL. We had our Ned assemblies. The HSI Key Club started a ESL tutoring club on Thursdays after school. Award ceremonies are Friday morning. The coat drive kicked off! The PTO had their first meeting of the new year. School Choice scarves were handed out! Saturday January 28th HSA will host the 2nd Annual VEX IQ Challenge with 24 teams competing!

Harmony School of Innovation Garland

The boy's basketball team won their game Tuesday night. The engineerinig and HOSA students highlighted their upcoming STEM Fest projects at the stafff meeting. Some of our engineering students attended UTARI's competition orientation. The Key Club has started a ESL tutoring club at HSA on Thursdays after school. Mr Montejo and some students are speaking at the Texas STEM Conference on Friday. HSI advocate parent, Teresa Cook attended the School Choice Rally in Austin. HSI students volunteered to help at the VEX IQ Challenge at HSA.

Harmony School of Nature

Nature will be hosting a potluck dinner for 8th and 9th grade students and their families. Nature had the first semester AR party with the help of some high students participating. K-2 Awards ceremony was a great success with families and staff. For the first time the Cheerleading Team had a breakfast of appreciation with the administration of Nature. School wide spelling bee had some intense competitors this year but Eldridge Pollard (1st place) and Khang Bui runner up had a great day! Ringing in the Lunar New Year with a friendly performance featuring a burst of energy and color with a traditional dragon dance by our seniors Bryan and Thomas Friday morning throughout the hallways. Our first annual LOTE competition event and showcase.Our students did amazing performances in turkish,spanish, and french. Many students recieved awards and were very excited to participate in this competition.

Softball try-outs will be held every Tues and Thur of this month. On Friday will attend the Business Exchange Breakfast at the Chamber. UNT Admission Advisor for the Health Science will come speak to the 7th and 8th graders about what it is and how college admissions work. inofrmatuion that will help the students to start thinking about college and some specific majors or careers. Teacher of the Year Mrs. Rhonda Gomez was announced this week as the nominee for the Grand Prairie campus. There are so many attributes that she has given to our students and our campus. She is a pillar to our school that organizied the first ever scan bar code system in her class this year. Mrs. Gomez also organized the school's Kid's Vote this year to an amazing turn out for the students' this year. Those are jsut a few things that we appreciate about her and all her hard work! We are participating in the Great Kindness Challenge at HSAGP from January 23rd-27th. At the heart of TheGreat Kindness Challenge is the simple belief that kindness is strength. As an action is repeated, a habit is formed.With the Great Kindness Challenge checklist in hand, students have the opportunity to repeat kind act after kind act. As kindness becomes a habit, peace becomes possible.

Harmony Science Academy Euless

It is always good to keep our eyes in the future, but it is also important to remember our Histoy. Mrs. Lewis, one of our high school counselors, is beginning to organize a Black History Month Assembly for our students. Our campus had their annual blood drive, each participant was able to give back to the community and help save 3 lives. Our boys basketball team also made it to playoffs of the region. They will keep their eyes on the prize and plan to move forward in the region.

HSA-Euless is the melting pot of many languages. With our diverse set of languages offered by our passionate teachers, HSA hosted their annual Language Olympiad. Our students represented Japanesse, Turkish, and Spanish. They showcased their talent with performances that were passionately prepared for their audience.

Harmony School of Innovation Eules

HSI, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and Olive Garden are joining forces to create Pasta for Pennies; A fundraising campaign in benefit of Leukiemia and Lymphomoa Society. LLS helps to fund life saving blood cancer research and helps children and adults going through treatment right now.We will be organizing a Goods Drive in benefit of the USO Chapter located at the DFW Airport. The class with highest quantity of donations will be given a price.

Our students are filling the hallways with nice melodies! Students from all grades have started to play new instruments during their music class. They are learning more about the art of music while having fun and enjoying the sound of their new instruments.

We will have our awards ceremony Tuesday, January 17th to recognize achievements from first semester. We will have our awards ceremony Tuesday, January 24th to recognize achievements from first semester. Students will take a World Literature field trip to UTD

Harmony Science Academy Fort Worth

Takin' care of business...We prepared and showcased a Lost and Found improvement, Open House and Talent Show Auditions took place. HSA rallied for School Choice. Led by the HSI Cheerleaders, the participated in a School Choice Pep Rally and danced to Justin's Timberlake's Dance, Dance, Dance while performing the School Dance, 2017. Students also competed in Math League, Nat Geo Bee and performed a Talent Show to benefit the school's music program.

8th grade Parent Night prepares parents for high school. Brother model formal wear at Fort Worth Bridal Show. HSI is set for Math League, Science Fair and STEM Festival Saturday. Seniors prepare Prom. Cheerleaders learn School Choice dance. Speak to PTO about School Choice Rally, Harmony on the Hill and April 26th in Austin. Our campus was packed with events! We hosted Science Fair, STEM Fest, Math League and 1st Semester Awards Ceremony!
