“I see beauty in all shapes and sizes. Anyone could be an artist’s subject.”
Jason first became interested in art at an early age. Like most children, his favorite activity was drawing and coloring. He started taking drawing classes in school and his curiosity for art grew. After graduating high school, Jason attended art school in Allentown, Pennsylvania and studied Graphic Design. He learned all the traditional methods of fine art but had a passion for digital art.
Jason exhibited his work while in college and his school used one of his pieces for their marketing campaign. Some of Jason’s work was shown at local businesses and after graduating from college, he decided to commit his time to creating art.
In 2016, Jason opened his Redbubble and TeePublic online art stores. From there he was able to put his illustrations on an array of merchandise and showcase his work in a different way. These print on demand companies brought in a wider audience and great exposure. TeePublic has featured his designs multiple times on their homepage and email marketing campaigns.
Jason Lloyd’s work at times has been controversial, humorous, and downright naughty to its immediate audience. In his work, he loves to use texture and color to tell a story. Jason has always been deeply inspired by pop culture and frequently references it in his illustrations. Jason often uses humor and LGBTQ themes as a tool to entertain and enlighten his audience.
At the heart of it, Jason is a visual story teller. Word play in his illustrations are as big a part as the illustrations themselves. Jason frequently creates art collections with themes. These collections not only produce visional candy for the audience, they also showcase everyday people, usually people in the LGBTQ community.
