The dates below have been set through Human Resources regarding timeline of interviews. There will be applications sent out to include teachers, classified staff, and parents to interview finalists for the principal position.

  • March 13th and 14th, applications will be screened by the Superintendent's Leadership Team
  • March 31st will be building interviews and tours here at South. South will have teacher, classified, and parent representation on this building team.
  • April 10th-a recommendation will be shared with the School Board for hire and announced publicly upon Board approval.

This Wednesday Collaboration Schedule

Please plan to meet in the Band Rm at 1:55-3pm this Wednesday to share some of our school wide data year to date, including discipline broken down in different ways. There will be time built into this hour to meet in staff selected Intervention Teams to discuss, brainstorm, and decide on next steps with Ci3T members to help lead each group.

3pm-Book Study Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?

BLT Members-we are going to cancel our BLT meeting so everyone can attend the all staff presentation of our student data. Thank you!

Make sure to make up test security training if you missed last Wednesday and will be assisting in Kansas Assessment proctoring! Thank you!

Fire Marshall State Report is Back

Charlie will be meeting with individuals if we received a classroom violation on a fire code. Something that came up often is content/materials on top of shelving near the ceiling area. Heads up to take a quick peak in your room on top of cabinetry to make sure there is a 2 ft plus clearance to the ceiling. Thank you!

For 8th grade and/or upstairs classrooms-we did get word from capital outlay approval to get more transparency-either a window in the current door or a different door to alleviate the disconnected feeling some have shared with the door is closed to the outside hallways-especially those without interior windows to the hall. This construction or adaption to the doors should occur this summer.

Let's have a wonderful week!
