Peace in Palm Springs a Korakia Pensione Experience

I found this beautiful resort while searching for a quiet location to decompress after a taxing midterm season. Upon first glance at the website, it was clear that was where I needed to be.

My first steps towards the entrance were guided by a friendly fountain that stood in front of the keyhole entrance to the remodeled Moroccan inspired villa.
Continuing through the villa, I stumbled upon a beautiful view of the Moroccan pool and restored villa.

Only minutes after my arrival I was transcended to another part of the globe.

Peaceful fountain and firepit great for enjoying a meal, meditation, or just warming up.

The restored historic villas provided me with the ultimate escape. The property is covered with canopies, lounge chairs, and firepits surrounded by a plethora of olive trees, citrus blossoms, and cascading bougainvillea vines creating the perfect setting for mindfulness.

Relaxing in the Mediterranean courtyard

Nestled at the base of the San Jacinto mountains, Korakia was only an hour drive away.

Located minutes away from South Palm Canyon Drive, where I walked to enjoy a meal.

As I returned to the resort, I was in awe. It had transformed. Hundreds of candles and beautifully crafted Morrocan lamps had been hand lit and placed throughout the entire property.

The hand crafted, heated salt water pool was garnered by three roaring fire pits, numerous chaise lounges, cozy canopies and a beautiful view of the courtyard. It was breathtaking.

My room was subtle yet elegant. Everything from the wooden sleigh style bed and wooden vaulted ceiling to the lack of a television put me in a state of absolute ease.

After a restful night, I headed to back to the gorgeous Mediterranean pool to partake in a sun salutation hosted by the resorts yoga instructor, followed by a delicious breakfast in the courtyard.

Avocado toast and banana pancake breakfast.

For anyone looking to truly escape, Korakia afforded me the perfect space to alleviate all the stress and tension I had accumulated. I look forward to my next experience at this tranquil retreat.
