Unashamed 2017 Journey to the philipines, manila

Hello, welcome and thank you in advance for taking the time to read my story.

My name is Mncedi Xaba, I am an intern on the Every Nation Campus Wits full-time ministry team and our vision is that we exist to honour God by establishing Christ-Centered, Spirit-Empowered and Socially Responsible churches and campus ministries in Every Nation.

I come from Springs, which is east of Johannesburg. I was raised by a strong single mother and I have an amazing younger brother, Malusi, who is a talented jewel maker and designer in the making. My brother is deaf and we communicate with him using South African Sign Language. I really love the fact that although he is living with a disability he doesn't let it stop him from doing things that every other 18 year old boy does. He loves dancing, watching TV and using his hands to create amazing jewelry. Thanks to my brother, mom is getting more compliments than usual about how amazing she looks with the earrings and neck pieces my brother makes her.

Being part of this ministry has challenged me to have an impact in the respective sphere of influence that I hope to venture into one day. I have also learnt that true leaders have integrity. Integrity is the very core of their influence. Living the values they profess to believe is what gives them credibility and allows others to place their trust in them. True leaders are able to say “do as I do” rather than just “do as I say”, because they lead by example. Seeing young people learn how to lead now as students has been great because the campus is a seedbed of culture shapers and world leaders.

I have been invited to join thousands of students and other full-time campus leaders from the Asia and Oceania region at the ENC Asia conference in Manila, Philipines in Asia from the 28th of July to the 6th of August. It is an honour to be invited and I could use your help.

My hope is that I would go to the conference and continue learning how to raise up the next generation of leaders in our country. Leaders who will go on and bring radical transformation in our nation. The cost of the trip is R20 000, this includes flights, accommodation and meals. The first R10 000 is due on the 15th of May 2017.

I'd really love for you to partner or make a pledge towards me going to Manila. I've also included my banking details: Capitec bank, Mncedi Xaba, 1291190447.
