Ashley Pierce and Helaina Griggers
Act One: The first quote shows that Macbeth is the weaker of the two and the second quote shows that Lady Macbeth is stronger.
"Yet do I fear thy nature: It is too full o' th' milk of human kindess" (1.5.14) Lady Macbeth says this about Macbeth because she thinks Macbeth isn't capable of following through with killing King Duncan.
"'Tis to love the babe that milks me--- and dashed the brains out." (1.7.55-58) Lady Macbeth says this to show that Macbeth should keep his promise.
Act two: Macbeth is feeling guilty about what he has done and Lady Macbeth feels nothing.
"sleep no more!" (2.2.40) Macbeth thinks he'll never sleep again after murdering the king because sleep is for the innocent and he's no longer innocent.
"A little water clears us of this deed: how easy is it then!" (2.2.66-67) Lady Macbeth thinks you can simply just wash away the guilt and no longer feel it.
Act three: Macbeth is feeling bold and is acting alone, no longer asking Lady Macbeth what to do. Lady Macbeth is still unchanged, no guilt.
"Hath rung night's yawning peal, there shall be done A deed of dreadful note." (3.2.43) Macbeth is no longer telling Lady Macbeth what his plans are, he is working on his own.
"You look the season of all natures, sleep." (3.4.141) Lady Macbeth still thinks you can sleep off the guilt of murder.
Act four: Macbeth is feeling more confident and strong while Lady Macbeth is no longer apart of Macbeth's planning.
"Then live, Macduff: what need I fear of thee?" (4.1.82) Once the witches told him that no man born of woman could harm him he no longer feared Macduff even felt a little cocky about it.
"Be innocent of the knowledge, dearest chuck" (3.2.45) He didn't include her in the plan to kill Banquo and Fleance.
Act Five: Macbeth is very confident and feels invincible while Lady Macbeth is having an emotional breakdown.
"I have almost forgot the taste of fears." (5.5.9) Macbeth feels no fear and thinks no one can hurt him.
"Here's the smell of blood still." (5.1.43) Lady Macbeth is overcome with guilt and ends up committing suicide.
