What is Cyber Security?
Cyber Security are technologies and processes that protect IT assets from cyber attacks and viruses.
Many corporations around that world are being connected through the internet and are beginning to invest in cyber security
It is estimated that $655 billion will be used on Cyber Security in the near future.
Cyber Security insurance plans cover a variety of costs related to cyber attacks, including revenue lost from downtime, notifying customers impacted by a data breach , and providing identity theft protection for such customers
Why is it important?
Many people are connected to the internet and they use it for extremely important uses such as personal information
It is possible to for hackers to obtain valuable personal information such as bank accounts, address, social security numbers, and they can even take your identity.
About 110 million Americans were hacked in 2014, that's about 50% of the adults in the whole country
In 2015, 85% of executives were concerned about cyber security and lack of data security
What Can You Do?
Limit the amount of personal information you post
Remember that the Internet is a public resource
Be wary of strangers
Evaluate your settings
Be wary of third-party applications
Use strong passwords
Keep software, particularly your web browser, up to date
Use and maintain anti-virus software
Some hackers hack for good things such as to expose conspiracies and some hackers are hired by big companies to find the flaws in their systems
