2019 SPRING TAI CHI RETREAT
Come out to Black Moshannon State Park in Central Pennsylvania for an extended training weekend. Arriving on Wednesday evening, and leaving Sunday at noon, this workshop will hone in on the traditional Wudang Taijiquan principles along with the Life Nourishing Tai Chi wellness program for foundational body movements and mechanics.
This course will offer the traditional qigong series for developing internal body alignment and the core structure for practicing taijiquan and neigong health arts. The course will include all the warm ups and cool downs for one's practice, along with all of the Level 1 exercises.
Each class will be 2-3 hours in length, with 3 classes per each full day of training. Morning classes will focus on foundational material, drills, principles, and longevity theory. Evening classes will focus on individual development, and solo practice.
In addition to the core material, this workshop will offer experience in push hands for sensitivity and combat skill development. We will explore what roles taiji place in combat training, and the methods used to develop actual skill, and not just cognitive understanding. Those interested in more intense training will be welcome to participate in optional sparring and grappling training.
If students attending have any questions regarding Daoism, Daoist meditation, or standalone longevity practice, Xia will offer constant opportunities for questions and open discussion.
New comers are encouraged to join us. Be it your first tai chi class, or your first experience with the Wudang Swordsmen community, we are excited to have you join us for this deep training opportunity.
Returning students will work on their focus material, be it instructor training or personal skill development. We are excited to get our advanced students ready to offer Life Nourishing Tai Chi wellness classes in their local communities in the near future!
