Women Helping Women
For a Cause
Women gathered for a weekend at the shore in Asbury Park, NJ in September 2018 at Women's Weekend NJ's ("WWNJ") main event. This yearly fundraising event is held to raise funds for varies groups who support issues that impact women in Monmouth and Ocean counties. With the generous efforts of talented musicians, venue owners, sound teams, volunteers, sponsors, and a few hundred friends WWNJ was able to donate to 180 Turning Lives Around. 180 Turning Lives Around is a provider of services to individuals and families who are affected by domestic and sexual violence.
In September 2018 a few women gathered for a weekend in Asbury Park, NJ to unwind and party a "little" while raising funds for a cause (180 Turning Lives Around). So this is how things went, in case you missed it.
Friday night of Women's Weekend started quiet with just a few friends at the Wonder Bar. Meet and greet talk and catching up with friends. Well, a few more friends made their way over, then a few more, you get the picture. The house was packed! The bands hit the stage igniting the attendees. The electrifying energy of the bands engaged everyone to hit the dance floor.
Saturday everyone rolled out of bed and made their way over to The Anchor's Bend. WWNJ asked that everyone pack The Anchor's Bend. Little did they know that more women than expected would fill the venue in order to experience an amazing concert to support a cause. Despite the stage being washed away during a storm, The Anchor's Bend found a work around and the show went on.
