Women's Club Oakhurst country club

The Oakhurst Women’s Golf Club would like to invite all members to become part of our active, social association. We are a casual, social group that encourages all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players looking to have great time with friends. The Ladies play every Wednesday morning, tee times between 9AM & 9:50AM. If you are interested in joining our golf group, please get an application from our PGA Head Pro, Paula Olsen, at the Golf Shop.

Board Meetings & General Meetings will be held immediately after golf (except for General Meeting #1 which will be held during the Kick-Off dinner). Please attend as many meetings as you can. Players must attend at least one General Meeting to be eligible for awards. Sweeps will be awarded after each Ladies’ Day event. Annual awards will be presented at Award/Holiday luncheon in December.

Trophy Tournament. The tee times will begin at 8:30 am. Day 1, June 8, tee times will be based on current handicaps. Day 2, June 9, tee times will be based on the net scores/results of June 8.

The following information should be WRITTEN LEGIBLY on your scorecards before turning them in to the Handicap Chair.

OAKHURST SCORECARDS

GOLF ETIQUETTE

  1. Be a quiet and courteous player. Silence cell phone and keep discussions to a minimum.
  2. Without delay, play after the group you are following is cleared.
  3. Leave the putting green as soon as you, and one other player have holed out; unless you are the spotter for a player putting or if the total group is 3.
  4. Invite faster groups to play through, especially if there is a gap in front of you.
  5. Sand divots. Rake bunkers. Repair ball marks and one more on the green.
  6. Avoid stepping on the line of another players putt.
  7. Respect the 90-degree rule with cart and be aware of the movement and noise from them.
  8. Be mindful of your pace-of-play.

RULES OF READY GOLF

ON THE TEE

  • The player who is ready should hit.
  • Shorter hitters should hit first.
  • Tee-off as soon as the group ahead is clear.
  • Carry an extra ball in your pocket.

ON THE FAIRWAY

  • Take appropriate clubs to your ball and hit without delay.
  • Hit when ready & safe; do not use honor system.
  • Have your group watch where each shot goes.
  • Limit search for lost balls to 3 minutes.
  • Pick up ball upon reaching net double bogey anywhere on the course.

ON THE GREEN

  • Place your clubs between green and next tee.
  • Study your putt while others are putting.
  • Leave the green immediately after holing out and proceed to the next tee.
  • Complete your scorecard after you’re off the green.

ON PAR 3 GREENS

  • Upon reaching the green, if the group in front of you is waiting to hit on the next tee, mark your ball, and stand in a safe area and have the group behind you hit.

SHORT CUTS

  • Mark your score on the way to the next tee.
  • When driving a cart, drop your partner at her ball, then continue to yours.

REMEMBER SLOW PLAY AFFECTS EVERYONE. PLEASE COOPERATE FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF ALL.
