For the third year in a row, County Commissioner Viviana Janer hosted a “Paranda! with Santa” holiday event at the Robert Guevara Community Center aimed at brightening the lives of residents. “This has become a signature event that is anticipated by the community and is a highlight for many residents,” said Janer. “I love the way we are able to bring hundreds of people together and provide them with an enjoyable time to relax with loved ones and to also socialize with members of the community.

Pleneros perform! Residents dance!

Parrandas are traditional, carnival-like celebrations that feature music and other festivities that are common around the holidays in Puerto Rico and other Caribbean communities.

Many children received toys, including basketballs, and themed items from the movies “Cars” and “Frozen,” as well as the “Doc McStuffins” TV show.

Smile and say "Merry Christmas!"

The Photo Booth was popular with many of the residents who stopped by for the event.

Santa's helpers were also in attendance thanks to the Osceola County School for the Arts!

The “Parranda! with Santa” would not have been complete without a visit from Santa Claus. Parents took the opportunity to snap photos of their children with St. Nick.
