Principal's Message

Ahoy There Mighty Pirates

Congratulations to all students and staff who dressed up in magnificent costumes for our Book Week parade on Wednesday!

Thank you to Mrs Streader and her band of merry pirate helpers who made the event so memorable!

It was wonderful to see so many parents and visitors come along to enjoy the morning’s festivities.

Book Fair Success

Our annual Book Fair has been going along wonderfully and will close this Monday afternoon. It has been great to see so many parents and students purchasing books for now and the future. A percentage of all sales will go towards purchasing new books for our library.

Travelling To and From School

Parents and carers are responsible for how students travel to and from school. Schools take over responsibility and duty of care for the student once they enter the school premises. As parents/carers, it is important that you remind your child/ren of their responsibilities whist travelling to and from school each day.

For students who travel by bus, there is a Code of Conduct that bus companies expect students to follow. Parents and carers agree to follow this when they apply for and sign off on getting a bus pass. The full version of the Code of Conduct can be found at: https://apps.transport.nsw.gov.au/ssts/studentCodesOfConduct#/studentCodesOfConduct

Here is one area of this Code of Conduct:

Volunteer Prize Winner.

This week’s raffle winner for ‘coffee and cake’ is Clare Messiter. Congratulations and thank you!

Don’t forget to fill in your tickets when you come and volunteer.

Thanks to The Point Ballina for donating the vouchers for our volunteer winners to enjoy coffee and cake at The Point, overlooking the river.

Have a wonderful week of learning!

It’s sign on time at Lennox Head Alstonville Surf Life Saving Club

Fun in the sun: It’s nearing that time of year again when we dust off the swimmers, stock up on zinc and get ready for the nipper’s season.

Becoming a nipper is a great way to make new friends, learn about the ocean, develop some new skills, and when ready, to challenge yourself.

Sign on will take place on Sunday, 9 and 16 September from 9am to midday at Lennox Head Alstonville Surf Life Saving Club, Pacific Parade, Lennox Head. Come along, meet some of our nippers, and have all your questions answered.

Nippers season commences on Sunday 7 October 2018, with nippers split into age groups ranging from U6 to U14. Each age group is supported by experienced age managers who are passionate about teaching kids how to safely enjoy the beach and water.

Until next week: We are ALL Fair, Safe Learners
