London Eye 2 January 2017

It's an amazing structure - like a giant bicycle wheel. I found myself marvelling at the engineering.

It was a public holiday and the weather was clear so there were thousands of people. We were fortunate in that we had bought our tickets in advance. Even so, we had to queue for about an hour altogether.

Even the time standing in the queue was an opportunity to take photographs from different angles.

I am playing with a photographic app called Prisma. You can get some quite interesting effects with it. I found that the structure of the London Eye lent itself to some interpretation using this app. For instance:

But,of course, The real treat was the scenery from our capsule itself as it slowly rotated high above the Thames.

We were there!
