ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems Implementation Alabama Productivity Center & Supreme Cores of the Carolina's

What is ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems?

ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It is the most popular standard in the ISO 9000 series and the only standard in the series to which organizations can certify. ISO 9001 was first published in 1987 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an international agency composed of the national standards bodies of more than 160 countries. The current version of ISO 9001 was released in September 2015. Organizations certified to the ISO 9001:2008 standard will have a three-year period to transition to ISO 9001:2015. When the transition period ends in September 2018, ISO 9001:2008 certificates will no longer be valid.

APC Assists Supreme Core of the Carolina's with ISO 9001:2015 Implementation

Supreme Cores of the Carolina’s has locations in Alabaster, Alabama and Lancaster, South Carolina. They provide sand cores to the foundry industry. Many of their customers are in the automotive industry and require their suppliers to be certified to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS). The Alabama Productivity Center (APC) was first called in to assist when they were preparing these facilities for an ISO 9001:2008 certification audit. Since that time APC has been helping them prepare for surveillance audits by performing internal audits of both facilities, updating documentation, tracking key measurable’s and other items needed for the quality management system certification.

Shortly after the introduction of the ISO 9001:2015 QMS standard, Supreme Cores wanted to be one of the early implementers of the new standard. They asked the APC to assist with the transition and create a documented system that complied with the new standard. APC created a simplified program, comprised of documentation that supported the control of the organizations processes and conformed to the new standard. They received their certification well ahead of the deadline imposed by the international organization.

We congratulate Supreme Cores on being one of the early organizations that received ISO 9001:2015 QMS certification. APC can provide these same services for any ISO management system program, including ISO 14001 environmental management systems, IATF 16949 quality management systems, AS 9100 quality management systems, and ISO 45000 occupational health and safety system management systems.
