Amendment 1 Freedom of RELIGION,speech, press, assembly, and pettion.

By: Kirsten fisher

Amendment 1 is the first amendment to the untied states constitution and is one of ten amendments is the bill of rights. Amendment 1 makes it illegal to make a law that establishes a religion, stops the freedom of speech, stops people from practicing their religion, stops the press from printing what they want, and stops people from exercising their right to assemble peacefully or demonstratin against the government.
An example of amendment 1 is a court case between a School district and some students the case was about how the students decided to where black arm band to anti - protest about the Vietnam war these students where asked by the school the remove these arm bands if not they will be suspended these students did not remove the arm bands. This is violating the amendment 1 freedom of speech.

Amendment 1 freedom of speech could relate to me because if I ever was told I couldn't say something or that I couldn't where something that I was protesting about that would be violating my rights of freedom of speech. For example say I was giving my opinion at school on a certain topic at school and one of the teachers, principal, staff, etc said that I couldn't say my opinion on this topic That would be violating my rights.
