USDA Krystal Stack

United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service was founded 1972 with the goal of protecting and promoting food, agriculture, natural resources and related issues.

The current leader is Kevin Shea. Their website is https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/home/

They are responsible for protecting and promoting U.S. agricultural health, regulating genetically engineered organisms, administering the Animal Welfare Act and carrying out wildlife damage management activities. In the event that a pest or disease of concern is occurring, APHIS implements emergency protocols and partners with the impacted States to quickly manage or get rid of the outbreak.

They are addressing the food and health of animals that are on the market. They want to ensure that animals are living decent lives before they are sold.

They are partnered with the US government and the states as well to protect and ensure the health of both plants and animals.
