Poetreee By Peri LaBonte

I smell everything, everything smells me

The scents come in my nose like nasal spray

Flowers, soap, and bath bombs smell so whoopee

I also like the smell of fruit sorbet

My sense of smelling is so very strong

Some people find it truly distracting

I like to smell things oh so very long

Smelling makes me look very attracting

Fresh laundry, lotion, and candles as well

I smell everything, it maybe sound weird

I like smelling a lot cannot you tell

Smelling brings me pleasures; makes my nose cleared

Smelling is awesome you should try it too

If you do, tell me I’ll be your guru

So much depends

Upon

A turkey

in a carriage

Covered in pineapple

Sauce

Besides the cut

Green beans

“Mother to Son” by Langston Hughes

Well, son, I'll tell you:

Life for me ain't been no crystal stair.

It's had tacks in it,

And splinters,

And boards torn up,

And places with no carpet on the floor --

Bare.

But all the time

I'se been a-climbin' on,

And reachin' landin's,

And turnin' corners,

And sometimes goin' in the dark

Where there ain't been no light.

So boy, don't you turn back.

Don't you set down on the steps

'Cause you finds it's kinder hard.

Don't you fall now --

For I'se still goin', honey,

I'se still climbin',

And life for me ain't been no crystal stair.

I drift through the wind

Empty, but free

Nothing to carry

Nothing to rely on

I can go anywhere

the wind takes me

Alone, but free
