Evening Prayers

Find a quiet space. Be still. Relax. Know that God is present. Know that He holds you close.

Pause. Be still. As we review this day.

Look back over the day. Recall what has been, be aware of your feelings & the ways in which God has been present to you: the times when the Holy Spirit was drawing you towards life.
First of all, take a moment to breathe deeply.

Be thankful for the day that has gone.

In what have you seen the love and compassion of God today? (Speak it out & begin to thank Him).

In what have you not seen God's love and compassion?

Where it's your fault: confess, receive forgiveness. Where it's someone else's troubles: lay them down before God.

What have you learnt from the good and the hard parts of this day?

As you share them with God. Listen out for what He is saying.

Speak blessing over all you have encountered today.

Use blessings from the Bible: e.g. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted (Mt5:4); May the peace of God guard your hearts & minds in Christ Jesus (Phil4:7); May God strengthen you & help you (Is41:10); May God lead you to still waters and refresh your soul (Ps23:2-3). There are many, many, more!

May the Lord bless you & protect you. May the Lord smile on you & be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favour & give you his peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)

In John 14:27, Jesus says: "I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid". Sleep well.

You can never trust the weather forecast to tell you whether the sky will be photo worthy, more often than not you’ll probably be disappointed with the result. We had been checking the sky for a week to try and get out for some sunset photos but every evening was overcast. The day this photo was taken wasn’t any different, with a thick bank of cloud on the horizon, but we decided to skip dinner and go a few miles to Talisker Bay to see if the sun would surprise us. We got there about an hour before and knew it was going to be a special evening." • Deniz Göçmen - "untitled image" • delfi de la Rua - "Estuve visitando Sudáfrica con mi familia. Esta foto es en el Cabo de la Buena Esperanza, me detuve a sacar fotos de las montañas y acantilados y de repente apareció el arco iris. Fue un espectáculo para toda la gente que estaba allí presente." • Aaron Burden - "untitled image" • Avi Richards - "Editing with a View" • freestocks - "Tree silhouettes against orange sky"
