I am researching Griswald Mountain and the fact that it is being voted against by people who don't even live here in Indian River. They are weekenders who come up for Saturday and Sunday, and then leave.
In ¨Motocross showdown in Indian River” This article went over the pros and cons and seemed the most unbiased. It went over on how Mark Hall grew up here and how where he lives now, there are more houses one mile from a motocross track then there are in Cheboygan county. It also went over the second property that was a potential racetrack.
Monday, May 1st, 2017: Today I observed Griswald Mountain. I saw that it was surrounded by trees and sound would travel nowhere near the miles that the claims made by the peoples arguments make.
Monday, May 22nd, 2017: I'm starting to see the problem more and more. People are just afraid of change. People don't know anything about it and make assumptions when there real reason are the complete opposite.
Wednesday, May 24th, 2017: I have noticed that most of the people arguing come up on the weekends. If there complaining about noise, then why do they go out with there speed boats and jet ski's and are noisy? They are pretty hypocritical in my own opinion.
Thursday, May 25th, 2017. Further into my research they say that they would want the track on Brudy Road. It would be in the sand pit but the problem with that is that it is sandy and that is already being used by many ATV's, Dirt bikes, and side by sides. Sand is not the right surface for a racetrack.
Friday, May 26th, 2017. Today was my last day doing this project. I have learned a lot and am glad I researched this because I have not gone into this much research before hand. I still stand behind my reasoning and my thoughts on bringing not only a racetrack, but entertainment to Indian River.
