Monkton Park Newsletter Friday 28th May 2021

What a brilliant end of term we have had. Today we had our end of term Monkton Mole award assembly and it was a real delight to celebrate so many achievements. This afternoon we created our own art gallery in the hall and the children loved seeing each others amazing Matisse artwork.

Next week, work starts on our running track. It will be built out of recycled tractor tyres but have a very natural bark chippings look. The track will span a full 200 metres and we look forward to having a run in our first week back.

We hope you have a wonderful half term break and see you on 7th June!

Helen Springthorpe

Good luck and congratulations to Miss Springthorpe who is getting married over the half term break. Her wedding was cancelled last year due to Covid restrictions so she has had a long wait for the big day! We hope you have an amazing day.

Foxes Anglo-Saxon Walk

This week Foxes met Elaine from Chippenham Museum for a ‘walk and talk’ about Anglo-Saxon Chippenham. It was lovely to be out and about after so long and Elaine was very impressed their knowledge and behaviour. We finished our visit in the park for with a well-deserved playtime.

Y5 Sheldon Visit

Y5 were visited by Mrs Collins from Sheldon School this week. Each group took part in a drama workshop followed by an opportunity to find out about life at secondary school. Mrs Collins was really pleased with their acting skills, behaviour and sensible questions.
