[10/28] - SSC Men's Soccer Tournament Begins Monday with Moccasins Heading to Lynn for Quarterfinals ... For the second year in a row, the Florida Southern men's soccer team will be in Boca Raton to start the Sunshine State Conference Tournament with a quarterfinal match at Lynn University. Kickoff for Monday night's match is 6 p.m. The Moccasins are again the No. 6 seed, and the Knights are again the No. 3 seed. The winner advances to the semifinal round to face No. 2 seed Barry on Thursday in Miami Shores at 4:30 p.m. The SSC has adopted a slightly different format this year with the higher seed hosting every game. - (read more)

[10/23] - Men’s Soccer Wraps up Regular Season with 3-0 Loss to No. 13 Barry and Will Head to Lynn for SSC Tournament Quarterfinals ... Playing their sixth nationally ranked opponent this year, Florida Southern wrapped up the regular season Tuesday night with a 3-0 loss to No. 13 Barry, which will send the Moccasins (12-4, 6-4 Sunshine State Conference) into the SSC Tournament as the number six seed with a quarterfinal match at Lynn on Monday, October 29. - (read more)

[10/23] - Top-20 Soccer Moments at Barnett Field, #5 (October 27, 2011) ... In 2010, the Florida Southern men's soccer team was in the running for a bid to the NCAA Tournament all the way until the final week of the season before a loss at Florida Tech in the final game of the season ended those hopes. Nevertheless, the Moccasins had put together a potent offense that returned largely intact in 2011, and finished eighth in the nation that year by averaging more than 2½ goals per game for the second year in a row. - (read more)

[10/29] - MOCS HARRIERS HEAD TO SSC CHAMPIONSHIPS ... The FSC men's and women's cross country teams head to Daytona Beach this Saturday for the 2018 Sunshine State Conference Championships on the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The men's team will be looking to defend their 2017 title and capture the program's 18th conference crown while he women's squad will be aiming to win their eighth league championship and their first since 2006. [10/23] - Florida Southern Closes Out 2018 in Miami Shores ... Florida Southern women's soccer closed out its season with a 4-0 loss at No. 9 Barry on Tuesday night. The Mocs (5-10-1, 3-7-0 SSC) put the pressure on the Bucs (14-0-1, 9-0-1) in the first half but an early first-half goal would be all Barry needed to secure an unbeaten season and claim the SSC regular season title. In 2007, under second-year head coach Ben Strawbridge, the Florida Southern women's soccer team had a breakthrough season that saw them go 12-7-1, doubling their win total from the previous year while reaching double-digit wins for the first time in team history. - (read more)

Florida Southern College volleyball rallied from a 2-1 deficit to force a fifth set, but was unable to complete the comeback in a 3-2 loss at Sunshine State Conference rival Florida Tech on Friday night at the Clemente Center. The Moccasins (17-9, 9-6 SSC) saw their win streak end at four in a row while the Panthers (9-17, 4-11) won their third-straight contest. - (read more)

[10/27] - Moccasins Complete Season Sweep of Embry-Riddle ... Three different players tallied at least 10 kills as Florida Southern College volleyball bounced back from a first-set loss to pick up a 3-1 victory over Embry-Riddle in Sunshine State Conference action on Saturday at the ICI Center. The Moccasins (18-9, 10-6 SSC) overcame a slow start on offense to top the Eagles (17-9, 8-8) for the second time this season. - (read more)

[10/22] - Seniors Pace Florida Southern Men's Golf Team on West Coast Trip to Otter Invitational ... Seniors Christian Anderson and Michael VanDerLaan each shot a one-under-par 71 in round one, while Anderson and junior Chase Ibbotson turned in scores of 73 in the afternoon, to lead No. 6 Florida Southern to an eighth-place tie at the end of day one in the Otter Invitational hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay. - (read more)

[10/23] - Moccasins Rise to Fifth on Final Day of Otter Invitational with Tucker Shooting 71 ... Freshman Johnny Tucker shot a one-under-par 71 that was Florida Southern's best round of the day, and along with a pair of 72s and a pair of 73s, it moved the 6th-ranked Moccasins up three spots in the final round for a fifth-place finish at the Otter Invitational. - (read more)

[10/22] - Women's Golf Sits at No. 6 in October 22 WGCA National Poll ... With one tournament remaining on the fall portion of the schedule, the Florida Southern women's golf team is now at No. 6 in the latest edition of the Division II Women's Golf Coaches Association national poll. Announced on October 22, the poll still has the University of Indianapolis at No. 1, four Sunshine State Conference schools in the top-10, and seven in the top-25. - (read more)

[10/29] - Holmes Named SSC Men’s Swimmer of the Week ... Florida Southern's Matthew Holmes is the Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week following a clean sweep for the senior in a dual meet victory at Tampa last Friday. Holmes won all three of his individual events and anchored a winning relay entry as the 7th-ranked Moccasins defeated No. 18 Tampa, 148-114. - (read more)

[10/26] - DeGrace Wins One Breaststroke Race, Takes Second in Another to Lead Florida Southern in Friday Night Dual Meet at Tampa ... Haley DeGrace picked up a win in the 200-breaststroke and a runner-up finish in the 100, but 5th-ranked Tampa ended up with 13 wins in the meet to post a 171-84 victory over No. 17 Florida Southern in their dual meet Friday night. - (read more)

[10/24] - Florida Southern Picked to Repeat as SSC Champions ... After winning both the Sunshine State Conference regular-season and tournament titles a year ago, Florida Southern College women's basketball has been selected to repeat as SSC champions in the annual preseason coaches poll, the conference office announced on Wednesday. The Moccasins were a unanimous selection after earning 10-of-11 first-place votes (coaches could not vote for their own team) and 100 total points. - (read more)

After posting 21 wins a year ago and scoring a massive upset of top-seeded Morehouse in the first round of the NCAA South Regional, Florida Southern College men's basketball has been picked as the favorite to win Sunshine State Conference, the conference office announced on Thursday with the release of the SSC Preseason Coaches Poll. - (read more)
