Ringworm is fungal

The symptoms are scaly, crusted patch that appear as red circles on the skin. Also may cause hair loss and and itching. It primarily effects the skin.

In most cases your doctor would recommend over-the-counter drugs. this could include anti-fungal cream, lotion, or powder. It will take 2-4 weeks for it to kill the fungus. if it is on your scalp, your doctor may prescribe antifungal medication. you could also use a shampoo.

African-American children in kindergarten or first grade were most likely to have ringworm. Ringworm is more common in them then Hispanics and white kids. After these grades it is far less common.

Ringworm is common all over the world. In what regions varies form country to country.
