Five Days to Breathe. A sanctuary By the Sea | resortQuest Retreat

“Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for. Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us.” ~ Maya Angelou

Time to breathe.

In this day and age of extended work hours, working weekends, impossible deadlines, overbooked schedules, soccer practice, cheer camp, dance recitals, baseball games, football practice, PTA meetings, endless amounts of homework, school projects, cooking (do they REALLY have to eat three times a day?), cleaning, dusting, mopping, mountains of laundry, hours of yard work, and mental exhaustion WHEN do we get a few seconds to just breathe? When do we take time for ourselves to lower stress levels and simply stop to smell the roses? breathe in the deliciousness of salty air and feel the sand between our toes?

I say that time is now.

it's time for you to breathe.

Five Days.

“There is virtue in work and there is virtue in rest. Use both and overlook neither.”

As a chef, I know that crazy, insanely busy life all too well. I've also come to learn, that taking time for yourself is not a selfish thing. You must be good to yourself before you can ever be good to or for anyone or anything else. I decided it was time for a break. It was time to breathe in the healing powers of salty air and pristine, white sand.

After consideration, my husband and I chose to spend five fabulous days at Sanctuary by the Sea. It couldn't have been a more beautiful or perfect choice.

Home Away From Home...

“Rest and be thankful.” ~ William Wadsworth

The views from both the upper and lower balconies were breath taking and the condo itself, stunning. It had a comforting, embracing home away from home feel with all of the amenities you could imagine. It was every wonderful thing about home but with no deadlines, no responsibilities, and no stress.

The Joy of Cooking

A Chef's Kitchen

Five Star Dining from your imagination & the comfort of your condo
"I love spending time with my friends and family. The simplest things in life give me the most pleasure: cooking a good meal, enjoying my friends."

Cooking involves time. Time is a very precious commodity. going out to eat and letting someone else prepare your meal is a wonderful treat. But. Going out to eat every night can also become, well... boring. At Sanctuary By The Sea, you have the very best of both worlds.

Imagine with me if you will... this spectacular chef's kitchen with top of the line appliances at your fingertips, and all of the time you want to prepare beautiful, delicious meals. No hurry, no rush, no stress.

What did we prepare in this stellar kitchen?

”Life is a combination of magic and pasta.” ~ Federico Fellini
Easy Fresh Basil & Italian Sausage Pasta
“The way you make an omelet reveals your character.” – Anthony Bourdain
Omelets Primavera, Smoked Gouda Grits, coffee and juice made a delicious, carefree breakfast.
“Love and eggs are best when they are fresh.”
You can enjoy a beautiful view right from your table.
..and a romantic dinner is right at your fingertips.
“The only time to eat diet food is while you’re waiting for the steak to cook.” ~ Julia Child
Surf & turf doesn't get much better than this, or fresher. All ingredients were purchased at the local seafood market less than five miles away.
“If you’re afraid of butter, use cream.” ~Julia Child
Bedtime Snack. Because we could.

Dining Al Fresca

“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.” ~ Virginia Woolf
Omelets and a Gentle Summer's Breeze
Brunch requires spicy Bloody Mary's.
Buttermilk pancakes with Lemon Curd, Fresh Berries ...and a view.
Skillet Potatoes are a perfect match for every meal.
...and everything is better with BACON!
Lunchtime brought Thai Chili Pineapple & Charred Lime Wings, with Chips & Salsa enjoyed by the pool.
Of course, made in our condo!
Our surf & turf dinner was made possible on outdoor grills by the firepit.
What a beautiful view for grilling!
Nothing beats a grilled dinner seaside.
...and a dip in the hot tub while waiting for the steaks to sear!
We already had after dinner plans in place for a Napa Cabernet by the firepit.
Some days call for relaxing, enjoying a quiet moment, and waiting to exhale.

What a Beautiful Place to call Home for five days.
