Homework takes away from family time, so kids have jobs or work on a farm and have choirs that take the hole day and homework takes away from kids time to play.

Large amounts of homework are disrupting after school activity time, family dinners, and are even cutting into family holiday plans.

After spending two hours at an athletic practice after school, a student rushes home to eat and then crack the books on 3-4 hours of homework per night, this leaves no time to work at a part time job. Part time jobs are beneficial to young adults by teaching them responsibility and good work ethics, qualities necessary in adult life.

Many adults often tell their children, "enjoy your childhood." In today's world however, this is easier said than done. Most kids have increasing amounts of homework which keeps them from spending time with their friends hanging out and just "being a kid."

Homework is a necessary part of school and improves academic learning.

"Disadvantages of homework are clear to everyone: exhaustion, frustration, loss of time to pursue other interests and often diminishing interest in learning" she said, "homework may be the greatest extinguisher of curiosity ever invented." --Lisa Rahtke
