What a fantastic term one. Its amazing to have our school with happy children engaged in learning and enjoying everything school life has to offer.
A huge highlight for this term was of course our famous Chapel Downs POP UP Museum. It was amazing to see the students sharing their cultures, hobbies and interests with the school. Thank you for supporting your child and helping to make the Pop Up Museum a success.
Lunch in Schools
A reminder our free, healthy, daily school lunch programme starts on day one next term (Monday 3 May) for all students. All students will be supplied with lunch daily and we still have our free fruit programme running. Students can bring a small healthy snack for morning tea.
Lunches will cater for the dietary, health and cultural needs of our students, and we will work with our suppliers and the Ministry of Education to make sure they are healthy and nutritious. All suppliers are be required to meet New Zealand food safety standards. The lunches will be available for all our students. While we know there are hungry children in every community, we do not always know who they are.
You can find out more about the programme at:
This week the Year 4 classes worked with the team from the Auckland Cricket Association to develop their cricket skills and every Y4 student received their very own cricket set
A huge thank you to Auckland Cricket.
Rotary Tip Top Games
On Friday the 26th of March, sixteen lucky children went to the Rotary Tip Top Fun Day and participated in different activities and games. To complete these activities, the children had to use amazing teamwork, clear communication and a ton of perseverance! At the end of the day, all the children who participated received a medal and a FREE ice block!
Y6 Rafting 2021
This week our Year 6 children were lucky enough to have a free session at the WERO Whitewater Park . The students had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with moving water and how to be river safe. The children experienced river crossing in a fast flowing river and go whitewater rafting on the Grade 2 Tamariki River, both activities are with a guide. A huge thanks to John Walker Field of Dreams, Community Swim and Vector Whitewater Park for providing this wonderful opportunity for our students.
