FIP in action at PRHS

Planning

The Fine Arts teachers were asked to present on how they use "formative assessment" in the fine arts classroom. The team planned together to come up with a 10 minute interactive lesson that incorporated a variety of formative assessment techniques. They decided to use "Boomwackers" as the tool to teach the teachers a variety of formative assessment techniques they use in their classrooms.

Working With The Teachers at PRHS

As the Tech Coach at Peachtree Ridge High School, I work closely with our LSTC in planning and implementing technology training to the teachers. As a school we have focused on moving our teachers across the matrix as they transform their classroom with technology and then incorporating it into their eClass C&I course pages.

In January I taught a workshop on how to screencast a lesson and embed it into the eClass C&I course pages. After they record their lesson, they were able to use edpuzzle as a tool to assess their students while watching the screencast.

Kathryn Wyatt, our chorus teacher, uses PADLET as a way for all of her students to have a voice in journaling in the classroom. She as embedded her padlet onto her course page. She has even taken it one step farther and made each of her Padlets only visible to students in a certain section using release conditions.

eClass Transformed Classroom

As a Tech Team, we met with a committee of teachers that are successfully using technology to transform their classrooms. After a very exciting brainstorming session, the Tech Team totally revamped how were are going to conduct our training with our teachers this semester.

Reflection

As a Tech Team, we met with a committee of teachers that are successfully using technology to transform their classrooms. After a very exciting brainstorming session, the Tech Team totally revamped how were are going to conduct our training with our teachers this semester.

Our Course Team Lead Teacher polled their team on the specific technology training they needed specifically for their team. The Tech Team created a Google Form so that the teachers could report back to us which allowed us time review the teachers "needs,." As a Tech Team will provide specific training during each of the course team meetings that take place during the day.

Below is a video that was sent out to the staff at the school as a commercial to our new training workshops.

I believe that our new tech direction will move all of our teachers in the right direction not only with FIP but in transforming their class through eClass.
